Where should I try and Publish My Poetry?

I write in a newer more unconventional style. My favorite poet is Sylvia Plath. I do not rhyme under any circumstances. I do most of my poetry reading online written by other underdogs, so I don’t know what publishes what. Any ideas on who would at least consider publishing my poetry? I just don’t want to waste my time submitting work to places that are looking for something completely different. Thanks ahead of time :)

The book “Poet’s Market” (your local library might have a copy) is full of information about journals that publish poetry.

This website is another good source:

You’re smart to be concerned about submitting only to journals that publish the type of poetry you write. That’s why you should always read a journal before submitting, in order to get a feel for the quality and style of work that they’re interested in.

Emily Dickinson proved that brevity can be beautiful. Only now is her complete oeuvre–all 1,775 poems–available in its original form, uncorrupted by editorial revision, in one volume. Thomas H. Johnson, a longtime Dickinson scholar, arranged the poems in chronological order as far as could be ascertained (the dates for more than 100 are unknown). This organization allows a wide-angle view …
