1. Practice by listening back to the recording of your classes daily.
2. Have a freestanding mirror to watch your progress, movements, facial expressions, shape of the mouth, breathing etc.
3. Spend a minimum of an hour a day practicing.
4. Review and take notes on the following points:
1. Are you in Tune with the music? – your notes should match the song.
2. Is your voice strong or weak- remember shouting is NOT Singing as it damages the voice.
3. Do you take the correct amount of breath to sing through the phrase correctly – you should not be short of breath
4. Do you struggle to reach the notes – pick an easy song to start with! Your vocal technique should help you build strength and coordination.
5. You should not be gasping for air between phrases – learn to breath in the “rests” between phrases
6. Listen to the difference in your voice when you review your vocal lessons. When you practice record your self and make a note of your progress.

The Vocal Psychology:
1. What you sing or say can affect your conciseness, this has been proven scientifically. I suggest listening to and singing positive inspiring music. This will not only help you to create more loving, nurturing and healthier experiences in life, but will also make you and those around you much happier.
2. Songwriting, singing and poetry a great way to turn a bad situation into a masterful work of art as it can help you discover the gems of wisdom learned along the way.
3. Reduce stress in your life by singing, praying or meditating. This will help keep your body, mind and spirit healthy.
4. Everyone learns differently, make sure that you find a teacher who can tune into your needs. Someone who will allow you to develop your own natural beautiful signature sound.
5. Remember not all methods apply to all students. It is best to find a teacher who is well versed in more than one method. Lani Starr Music Tips.
